Mercedes Map Codes

Overview

This guide shows you how to validate your vehicle details, prepare a USB with the official Download Manager, and generate your unique Mercedes-Benz navigation map code.

Tip: You can follow along on desktop or mobile. Keep your VIN handy.

Prerequisites

• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• NTG version of your COMAND unit

Prepare the USB with Mercedes Download Manager

Use the official Mercedes-Benz Download Manager (DLM) to create your USB stick. Read more about it here.

• Download: Click here for DLM
• Follow the Initial Check above for the correct USB format and version.
• Once created, insert into your car's USB port.
  • If the car prompts "install software update", proceed with the continue button.
  • Make sure the version and region are correct and then proceed with installation.
  • Once it asks for a Map License Key, you can proceed to the next step.

Tip: If DLM shows a "Not enough space" error, it can also refer to your computer's free disk space, not only the USB. Check the update size shown in DLM and ensure your system drive has a little more free space than required, and verify the USB capacity is sufficient.

WARNING: PLEASE MAKE SURE you create the USB FIRST, before purchasing a code from us. You might end up purchasing the wrong license key.

Generate your map code

1. Create a free account at mbretrofit.it.
2. Open the map generation page from your dashboard.
3. Click “Create Generation” and enter your vehicle details:
   • 17-digit VIN
   • Vehicle region (from the data card)
   • NTG version of your COMAND system
4. Complete the secure payment.
5. Click “Generate Code” — your unique map code is shown instantly.

Note: The whole process usually takes under 2 minutes (excluding USB preparation time).
